Monica Simeon is a member of the Spokane Tribe and was raised on the Spokane Indian Reservation. In 1999, she started Sister Sky with business partner and sister, Marina Turning Robe.
Sister Sky manufactures natural bath and body care products at a facility located on the Spokane Indian reservation. You might recognize their amenity-sized products from casinos and resorts across the nation. Sister Sky also manufactures and distributes a full size line of products under the Sister Sky brand to retail and spa businesses domestically and internationally.
Sister Sky has received numerous awards acknowledging their role as a model business for other Native American entrepreneurs, including the Tribal Business of the Year Award by the American Indian Business Leaders Association and the American Indian Woman Business of the Year Award by the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development. They have also been featured in FORTUNE Small Business Magazine and on the CNN/Money website.
