The purpose of this Early College Program is to provide a culturally relevant education experience for Native American high school students. Juniors and Seniors in high school will be invited to attend this program. This is a four week summer program for students desiring to earn high school credit (and in some cases college credit) for a select module of courses. Most of the coursework will be able to be finished during this four week program. Students will be encouraged to work at their own pace. Some students may need to continue this work independently during the rest of the summer to finish all requirements.
All students will take the Compass, which assesses the students’ skills in writing, math and english.
Once a week there will be a field trip to another college, university, and/or cultural site visit. Possible Field trips: White River Hatchery, Muckleshoot Tribal Council Meeting, University of Washington, Green River Community College, Seattle Central Community College, and Seattle University.
